It’s week 2 of the One Room Challenge and we’re excited to show you our progress. This week we will show you our kitchen island countertop. If you are just joining us you can check out our week 1 post.
KITCHEN UPDATE
So we have completed our kitchen island countertop using epoxy. We initially wanted to get a Calacatta Quarts Slab, but decided on epoxy since it would be more cost-effective and we could get the same look by doing it ourselves.
ASSEMBLING THE DRAWERS
First we assembled all the drawers for the base of the cabinet and screwed them all together. We are using two 32 inches and one 36 inches base cabinet drawers for this build. We also installed steel shelf support to support the countertop.

COMPLETING THE COUNTERTOP
Next we installed a 8ft x 4ft ply wood. The ply is 3/4″ in thickness.
